SEMINARS AND EVENTS AT THE MHS TRAINING CENTER

Thunderstorm Phobia Lecture

Saturday, August 28th  This Seminar has been Postponed!

11:00AM-1:00PM

$35 per person includes workshop, CD and a handout.  Your dog does not attend.  People only, please.

Thunderstorms can be scary for not just us, but for our pets as well.  Many of you may have come home on stormy days to discover with horror that your dog has destroyed the door, covered the house in drool or simply won't come out from under the bed.  In this seminar you will discover the aspects of storms that your dog may be reacting to and several ways you can help your dog become less fearful of thunderstorms.  The information presented will be useful for new dog or puppy owners, as well as families already experiencing this concerning behavior with their dog.  Help set up your dog for success by learning what steps to take to help your dog.

Helen Nicholls, CPDT, CDBC will be presenting this seminar.

Pre-registration is required.

Fun Nosework Clinic!

Come find out what all the talk is about.

Nosework is a fun new dog sport that works with your dog's natural hunting and scenting instinct.  Nosework is more like scent work that detection dogs are trained to do.  This is an introductory workshop where dogs have a chance to encourage their natural hunting ability.  Nose work is a fun activity that also builds confidence and burns mental and physical energy for the dog.  Handlers will learn how to set up nosework hunts at home and on the road to encourage their individual dog's ability.  Dogs work one at a time, so reactive or dog-aggressive dogs may safely participate in this workshop.

Wednesday, September 29th  6:30-9:00PM

Working Participant (limited to 6):  $50

Auditor (unlimited):  $30

Bring plenty of yummy treats for your dog and be prepared to crate your dog or work from your car as the dogs search one at a time during parts of this workshop.

Your Instructor:  Barb Burri is an active dog trainer and competitor.  She has titled her Labradors in agility, obedience, and rally.  She has been involved in adult education for over 30 years and teaches a wide variety of dog training classes and seminars throughout New England.  Barb has participated in several Nosework seminars taught by the founders of the sport.
